A Monday

Oh, I am looking forward to Spring!  It is so cold and dark and dreary.  I bought some African violets  Primula, a Spring perennial to brighten the dreariness.

And here are the groundhogs waiting for February 2nd.  And Sheldon, my other cat photo bombing.

This week I lost just shy of  another 2 pounds. (I reweighed myself later in the day and I lost 2.3 pounds.)

Now I am going to go clean the house.

African violets always make me think of my old Grandma from 40 years ago. She was so proud of her ability to grow them well because apparently they can be quite finiky.

African Violets also remind me of my Nana too. African Violets, Christmas Cactus and Cyclamen. Your photos reminded me of her today. Such beautiful colours. Well done on the lbs lost this week. I need to follow your example as mine are creeping on again. Love the groundhogs.

I haven't seen African violets for years and years, they must have gone out of fashion over here. Well done on the 2lbs. :-)

I hate to be a Kiljoy...
But...
Those are NOT African Violets...
They are Primula...
A Spring perennial...
Beautifully scented...
Water often, or they will shrivel...
Geeesh...
What would you people do without your resident Gardener and plant expert!!!

I have gorgeous flowering African Violets, if you are unsure of what they look like!!

Lovely posies, see that word words for all lovely blooming things! Thanks for the kind words on my post, it is so hard to know what is right these days, especially where our kids are concerned.

I'm really looking forward to spring here too.

Wow they are so beautiful! The first time I took a look at the pictures before reading the text, I thought they looked like African Violets... how cute are those groundhogs... so what are you going to be doing with them?

I just laughed my way through your previous post. Thank you very much, I needed that, it’s raining again.
(you really wanted to know that, didn’t you?)

Spring? What spring? You mean there is something else but rain? Prove it!

Your flowers are so pretty, at first glance I didn't even think they were real, they look so perfect! They actually made me think of my gay best friend in college who actually used to cross-breed them and create new hybrids of violets...he was an old Southern granma at heart. And I love that you have a collection of Groundhogs and that you mentioned them so matter-of-factly, like "oh, by the way, here's my collection of Groundhogs, and I lost another 2 lbs. Just another normal day". Wishing you good luck with your surgery and lots of good drugs for your recovery ;-)
